A small path with walls and stone walls that were made by stacking old kiln tools for approximately 400 meters.
Instead of discarding tools that had been repeatedly used during the kiln firing, they began to use them to build it house walls and earth retaining instead of stones, bricks, or blocks.
Take a walk and try to get a sense of the compassion the people living in the pottery town had for their tools.

At Seto Hongyogama kiln, which has an old climbing kiln in Seto Yaki, they continue to make pottery with unchanged handy work from the beginning. It uses glazes made from soil and plant ash collected from local mountains.
The pottery representing the Seto Hongyogama kiln, which has remained unchanged since its founding, is also attractive because it becomes more and more tasteful over time.
You can learn about the pottery used in people’s daily lives from the viewpoint of manufacturing, and experience the charm of folk artworks that are generated from such a handicraft. You can also visit the climbing kiln, which was actually used until 1979 and is still preserved as a tangible cultural property designated by the city.
